The objective of this project was to design and model a light that somehow solved a problem. Then design packaging for the light as well as a magazine advertisement.
My solution was to design a light that was energy efficent. The light is inspired by a bat and is solar powered. The light also responds to sunlight in that is opens and closes to reveal the crystal bulb in the center depending on how much light hits the glass panels. I created two ads, a single-page ad and a two-page spread. Both play with the idea of the light taking on the role of an actual bat in its natural habitat. The company name I created is "Glint and Glimmer" which reflects the high-end, elegant furnishings they sell. The packaging I created showcases the product and is decorated with elements from a bat's habitat. Read more about this project here.
